POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for maintaining developing new accounts with existing and future customers. The Sales Manager will work to identify prospects, develop relationships with buying influences, understand and learn customer processes and markets, gain competitive market intelligence in a broad geography. Emphasis will be placed on maintaining a sustainable competitive advantage by providing the best level of total customer satisfaction by thoroughly understanding competing products, services and technologies. Must also maintain a close relationship with LNA plants and assist in maintaining optimal plant balance. When necessary work with corporate account manager with new opportunities.RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:Sales GoalsMeet/Exceed all sales objectivesWork with logistics team for competitive delivered pricingFocus on maximizing plant balanceGain new accountsWork with NBD on new marketsAssist with strategic expansion initiativesCustomer Service/SatisfactionDevelop close customer relationships through visiting customers, matching products with customer specs and ensuring deliveryResolve customer issuesUnderstand and know customer's businessMake clear and concise presentations to customersProvide competitive quotesUnderstand production capabilities as well as competitionCoordinate with production team, keeping them informed and involvedEnhancing profitabilityBudget and forecast sales accuratelyInvestigate, analyze and interpret industry/sales dataCreate and maintain long range sales plansAccurately determine value of products in market place through market analysisDevelop and enhancement market intelligence in existing and new territories.Increase sales with existing customers by providing additional technical expertise on how our products are able to enhance their business model.NegotiatingNegotiate best possible prices for LNARepresent company/face of company in all customer dealingsProvide bids, quotes and prices that put LNA and customer in best possible position to achieve long term goalsPerform other duties as assigned.ATTRIBUTES:Complete understanding of LNA production, dispatch and transportation process and all associated costs as well as strong industry knowledgeAbility to set priorities, manage time and deliver resultsAbility to plan and deliver results in long- and short-term projectionsStrong relationship building skills both within LNA and with current and future customersBe conscious of safety and foster safe working practicesStrong problem-solving skills; has proven capacity to exercise independent judgment and willingness to make critical decisionsDemonstrated technical know how about the product we make and sale to the end customer.Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate on all levelsSelf-starter, self-motivated and with strong initiative. Previous SAP knowledge is a plus.Physical Demands include, but are not limited to:Must be physically able to perform work assigned.Must be physically capable of accessing all plant locations.Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust.Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.Will be working in an office, mining, and limestone processing environment.The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Metallic Particles.The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting.Able to lift up to 50 pounds.Must be able to travel up to 75%Required Experience Must have at least 5 to 10 years of proven sales management and multiple accounts management experience in a heavy industry. Working in the limestone, mining, clay, cement, chemical, or raw materials environments are a plus. Previous operations or manufacturing roles experience are a plus.Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Marketing , Metallurgical, Mechanical, Chemical, and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience in the field is highly desired.Lhoist North America offers a comprehensive benefits package including, but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401K, and vacation.
